In Sorry That I Asked, television has arrived - in a metaphor of search, doubt, emptiness. Seven core members of the medium (from editorial to post-production) reflect on themselves as they search and make their schizophrenic, lonely way through the abandoned shell of television. The piece takes place in an unclear, undefined future. Whether the medium will still exist in this future is completely open.
Sorry That I Asked is based on interviews with one representative from each area, in which they discuss what the medium of television was in the past, what it is in the present, and what it could be in the future. The film works with extracted statements from the interviews and places them in a new visual and content-related context. It is not clear in whose psyche or reality the action takes place, as all protagonists speak with a total of seven voices, characteristically fading into the background and moving in a continuous flow through the abandoned broadcasting station.
